My explorer is making a deep rhythmic sound between 20 and 30 mph. It's a woop, woop, woop sound that increases in frequency with speed, but disappears above 30 mph. It's coming from the front left tire area.
I ruled out a tire problem by swapping the front and rear tires on the left side--the sound was still coming from the front.
The sound is worst when going straight or turning right. When turning left it mostly disappears.
I'm guessing it's the wheel bearing, but are there other possibilities?
Thanks for any suggestions!
