Good morning,

Just rebuilt my transmission and installed a new flywheel, clutch/pressure plate, and slave cylinder. It runs and drives but has noticeable chattering pulling away in first gear (or reverse). It's felt through the chassis, not heard.

What are the likely causes for this? Does the flywheel need to "break in"? Thanks all.

The only time I've ever had chatter was from leaks, one was from a main seal leak, the other was brake fluid from the slave cylinder (shortly before that went out).

Maybe the input shaft seal is leaking if the trans was just rebuilt????

Check for air in the line on your throw out bearing. I know there are models with an "auto bleed out" for throw out bearing, but there are also models that have a bleeder valve, like mine. I had the same issue, come to find out, air in the line! Bleeding it out stopped it!
