Why is my tailgate handle so tight? (Can I loosen it?)

The only problem thats bugging me, besides the want to swap liftgates, and repaint the trim & cowls, is the fact that my handle on the liftgate is SO tight and hard to turn, I literally have to use both hands, OR throw all my weight into one side and push.

I havent taken the rear panel off on this one yet, but it was off plenty in my other 95, and 92, and I just dont see a way to adjust it, id like to pop it off and paint it too but thats all in good timing.

Anyone else ever had this problem?

Just pull rear panel off and lubricate it should work fine after that.

you don't have to take off the panel.

open your glass part and you will see the lock, spray it down with motor oil, not WD40 or other degreasers, as you oil it keep on turning the knob, it will clear up like new. I do it to my ex every year or so.
