My transmission is slipping, again. I had this happen about one - two months ago and I changed out the filter and fluid and it stopped. I thought it may had been the fact that I forgot to put the O-rings on the filter, but I corrected that problem when I went to change the filter and fluid. I spoke with a gentleman at Auto Zone and he thinks it may be that the bands need to be adjusted. Does anyone know enough about trannys to explain my problem? Thanks for all your help guys!

one question, does the fluid seem to be leaking out? if it is, then it may be a modulator valve problem. other than that, it may be the bands or your trans might just be getting old. the clutches might have worn a little thin and it's having a little trouble, its's not out of the question of the first generation explorer trannys.
