Will 2001 4.0 sohc 4x4 work in my 98?

I have a 1998 4.0 sohc 4x4 explorer and was wondering if anyone knows if a 2001 4.0 sohc 4x4 engine will fit and work in my 98?I'm thinking if I put my 98 intake onto the 2001 that it might work.Please help!Any suggestions would be helpful.
