97' mountaineer 5.0 4406
i have a guy coming to look at my parts explorer and we dont know if i have the tranny he needs-i have a 96 4.0 OHV and he has a 97 4.0 SOHC

Umm.. 97 4.0 has the 5r55e 95-96 has the 4r series.. so they won't work right. They'll bolt up but thats about it.
 






The 97 has extra sensors, and some parts are a little different such as the EPC solenoid.
