Heres the concern, the truck was in a front end accident where it ran over a car (stock lift), body is fine suspension was bent radius arm brackets collapsed, nut was touching the frame on the drivers side, frame is straight. Replaced the radius arm brackets, bushings etc only to find the drivers side TTB housing is bent pretty good. I know it needs to be replaced but finding a 4x4 Ranger in a yard around me is impossible but I've found a fair amount of Explorers with the D35. I did some searching but haven't found if the two are compatible. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Yes, D35 TTB beams are all the same ('95-'97 Rangers have different knuckles/brakes however).

Make sure it's a 91-93 Explorer as both the TTB and IFS Explorer front ends are D35s.

For a good shot at those parts, call Nagi's Auto Sales at 1-800-291-8334 and tell Chuck Sr. that the Gramlichs told you to call them. Odds are they've got them layin' around.

Not sure where you've been looking, but there's no shortage of TTB Rangers and Explorers around these parts. Check Craigslist too... I've seen a few of 'em being parted out lately.

Most 93-97 Rangers were a Dana 28...

Dana 35 will bolt in place of a Dana 28. Same frame brackets, same width.

You might need a different driveshaft, as the 35 pinion is bigger and longer.

Great upgrade in strength!

also make sure you get an axle with the same gear ratio, or you will have to change out the rear ring and pinion to match the front you purchased.

They will bolt in place as a direct swap? You'll def. have to change the driveshaft..

93-97 - F37Z4A376B 30.25" C-C 17 5/8" W-W
98+ - XL2Z4A376AA 24" W-W and uses a CV instead of flange at the front diff.

..yeah, it deffinetly has to be TTB, not the newer cv and torsion bar IFS

No they were 28/35 hybrids. All 4.0s got full D35s, some 3.0s got hybrids and all 2.3s from what I've seen got hybrids.

Correct. And the hybrid's beam will still fit the true D35 on a ranger anyway, as it's the same.
