Right now I have an Alumapro Alchemy in the qlogic box with 250 watts going to it. I will be putting my Eclipse in and powering it with a JBL bp1200.1 with the gains turned low, so it won't get more than 800, because full excursion of the cone is 900 watts. Anyway, this sub ways a ton, probably 30-40 pounds. Will the qlogic support it or will it break apart with that kind of weight and power?

i dont think that the q logic box is good for the eclipse aluminum (and vice versa).

That's what I think too. I can hear the box leak when I push on the woofer, and I know where it's coming from, but I don't want to cut the carpet or take the Eclipse out. It's weird though when I push on the center of the woofer to test for leaks, it doesn't pop right back up which indicates a leak, it's slow to come up, meaning no leaks or a very tiny leak. This week I'll build a new box . Hey leenjen, should I port it to 35 hertz in a 1 cube enclosure? If I seal it, what would be a good size for great SQ but also be able to get loud.
Fs=29 hz
Qts=.34
Vas=2.68 ft^3
Also, do I really need a subsonic filter if I go ported? Thanks

if you want a ported enclosure for that sub, it has to be bigger then 1 cuft. 1.82cuft is recommended, but you can safely use 1.4cuft. the larger enclosure will sound better and hit much harder. if you want to port a 1.82cuft enclosure and tune it to 35 Hz, the port should be 12.26" long and 4" diameter. if you need to use 3" diameter, then it has to be 6.35" long.

with the numbers you gave me, .83 is recommended for optimal sq response. but if you want it to hit harded and still sound great, i think 1 cuft would be better.

Thanks for the help. I don't know where I got that 1 cubic feet ported, it was late and I wasn't thinking.
