the 92 explorer came stock with the A4LD
the AOD will bolt up to the 5.0 but you dont have the AOD i dont think

Yup, believe 91-94s had the A4LD, 95-97 4R55E, 98+ the 5R55E.

I believe you can get tranny adapters from Advance Adapters, James Duff, or Kauffman.

Alec, actually 97 has the 5R55E (or atleast 97 1/2).

I was thinking it might be closer to 97 1/2, but 97/98 makes it simpler Ford is well known for making changes in the middle of model years.
