Does anyone know if they make a true octane booster?
I have read every can/bottle out there and they refer to the octane boost in points i.e. "Raises octane by 6 points" which translates that a point is 0.1 octane. Gee, I don't think a .6 increase in octane is going to douse detonation.

I want to be able to make 87 octane into 92/93 such that in my supercharged application I can either add octane to a bad tank of gas, or if I am out in the middle of nowhere and 92+ isn't available....or add to 93 to decrease the chance of detonation towing on really hot summer days.

Good luck, and if you find somethat does please let me know.

Don't you just love those ads and those flashy boxes they put them in at the auto stores? Those guys should be put on trial for BS advertising. About the only thing I've ever found to come close was putting 5 gallons of 110 in a half tank of fuel but the reason I did that was because the slime ball station I HAD to stop at said it was 92 and my engine was about to come apart after driving out of their lot. Don't go through South Georgia on less then a 1/2 tank  , you won't find good stuff till Florida.

I've heard something about moth balls but I'm not putting them in my tank.

Later Doug.

Xylene is what i used for the track. No problems as long as you keep the mix greater than 2:1 gas:xylene. Toluene is hard to find because it is used in making meth. Xylene is either 114 or 116 octane

I have used Xylene in the past for my GTP with great results and no ill effects. Its just not cost effective.

go to sunoco gas station, they carry 94 ocatane gas
