Hey guys, I'm throwing up o2 sensor light and it's only because the o2 sensor got damaged I don't want to get into that story because that's another story on its own but anyways so I got damaged a little bit so it's throwing the o2 sensor code anyways I have an o2 sensor that is almost identical and the only difference is one letter in the part number so I don't know if someone here has more knowledge on what I want to do if it will work or not but I will show you the part number and hopefully somebody can make sense of it because I've tried looking online I can't find nothin

O2 sensor currently installed is factory Ford motor company and the part number is as follows FL3A-9G444-AA

So the o2 sensor I have that I want to replace with hoping it will work is again Ford motor company factory OEM and from what I found is for a 2018 5 l Mustang and it's part number is as follows FR3A-9G444-AA

So the only difference in the part numbers is the letter so I don't know what that means or what it will do what it won't do all I want to know is can I put it in and will it work fine and give it to my engine light?

Thank you so much and hopefully I get a response relatively soon because I'm just sitting in the parking lot researching and waiting for a response thank you

Hello, I'd use the same part number to replace the sensor that's faulty, match it with your VIN so you can get the correct part. I can't guarantee that a Mustang oxygen sensor will work with the Explorer. Hopefully this helps.

Well I couldn't wait any longer so I went ahead and I made the switch and engine lights gone hasn't come back on I've been driving around like crazy trying to get it to come back on gas mileage is actually going up so far it's been really good excellent in my eyes and so far no issues no power loss noticeable at all if anything it feels a little bit more better because it's running off the o2 sensor instead of the loop mode so if it does come back on I'll let you guys know but my fuel level was just at 39 and I'm now at the car wash and now I see I have 44 km left so it's a win-win situation so far

FYI, Ford Parts does not show FR3A-9G444-AA as being for the Explorer. It's for the 2015-18 Mustang as you mentioned.
While it may work, I'm sure there is a difference between it and the correct one.

Oh most definitely there's got to be some difference which I have yet to find out because I cannot find anything online about it so that's why I brought my question here to see if I can get some answers so until then it's working just fine still beautiful and my gas mileage is even better than it was before what do you say about that? The only difference in the part number is that one letter so it's got to mean something I wonder if anybody knows what that means or if they can find out somehow
