I want to place an audiobahn alum 10x in a q-logic box. Do you think this will work? Awaiting your comments.

You need to go to Audiobahns website and see if that sub can be used in that amount of airspace, I'm assuming that you're talking about the sealed box... You should also check on the mounting depths of the sub and the box...

if you are talking about the box that goes in the stock location, that isnt enough airspace. keep in mind that the mass of the sub takes away from the airspace inside the box. it will work if you want to mount the subwoofer inverted (basket on the outside).

leenjan, spoke to a tech at audiobahn and he said that .65 cubic ft was enough for the sub. I know the mounting depth of the woofer is 5 inchesand the max depth of the q-logic box for an x 5.68 inches.
With that infor do you still think that it won't fit?

it's not weather it will fit or not. and the volume of the empty enclosure doesnt matter as much as the volume of the loaded enclosure with the eub mounted in it. the huge magnet structure and basket take a lot away. if you mount it inverted, then you will get the full volume of the enclosure.

i believe it will work, but i dont know how good it will sound and how good it will be for the subwoofer itself.

Lee,

Whats the purpose of doing that??? How about the difference in sound quality and what not...

most people do it just for show. but it actually does make use of the enclosure's air space more efficiently. the sound quality will still be the same (just make sure you remember to reverse the polarity ;) ). but you might get a little more deeper bass due to the extra enclosure volume.

leenjan, the tech said that enclousre size should be a min of.5 to 1.25 cubic inches.
So what would you recommend in a 10 in subwoofer that can handle at least250 watts and play down to about 20hz. that will also fit in a specific q-logic box.

leenjan, do you think a polk momo 10 inch will work?

I was thinking about going with a stealthbox and one sub I remember being recomended by a local shop was the Fosgate Punch HX2 It has a reecomended sealed space of .25-.75 cubes. But they prob won't play deep enough. They start at 30 I believe.

there are subs that will play down to 20HZ and will fit in that enclosure. but they wont play down to 20HZ in that enclosure. if you want really deep bass, you are going to need a larger enclosure. a very small enclosure will play very "tight" bass. it wont get very loud (compared to a larger enclosure), and wont play all the way down the subwoofer's frequency range. just because a subwoofer can play at a certain frequency doesnt mean it will. the enclosure is a big part of the equation. actually the box you make (or buy) is just as important as the subwoofer you select.
