Drive friendly... the Texas way.

Click the lights on/off for speed traps, wrecks, or debree in the road. - Check
Click the lights on/off for trucks trying to change lanes. - Check
Raise a hand to say "Thanky" to folks that let me pull in front of them. - Check
Raise two fingers from the steering wheel when you can see the face of the on coming driver, just to say, "Howdy". - Check

What can I say? I'm a Texan!!

Speed traps really tick me off anyway. I disagree with the assuption that speed = wrecks. Instead of having our public safty officers parked behind bushes getting cancer all day, why don't we have them driving around, so they can pull over people who tail-gate or pass on the wrong side or do their make-up in traffic or crap that like that that really DOES cause wrecks? Now if I'm doing 100mph and weaving through traffic, yeah, I should get a speeding ticket. But if I'm a quarter mile from the nearest car on a smooth, dry interstate highway going 80, how is that a risk to public safty?

From the little time I spent in England, I saw that their highway patrol has it figured out. They generally don't pull folks over for speeding. But if you pass on the wrong side they'll nail you every time. Of course, they understand that what we call the "Fast" lane is actually the "Passing" lane. (Any UK fella can correct me on that if I'm wrong.)

Okay. I'm done.

That one pisses me off more than someone that passes me doing 100 MPH! I also include shaving with that too fella's!

or how about reading the newspaper or reading theor presentation that they will be giving..I see all of these type of people on my way to and from work everyday..

You know what ticks me off? Maybe I'm just southern and used to the "2 finger'd wave to people you don't even know" but I hate when you let someone in traffic and they don't wave. I hate to think that my hometown of Charlottesville, Va is being filled with yankees and their lack of road manners. (Ok, maybe that's not entirely true, but for the most part, the farther south you go, the nicer the drivers get ~ untill you hit mid Florida and then you're going back north as you go south.) ;)

First day i got my learners license i had 3 tailgaters on me, just about everytime i drive theres always one. Probably because the side roads are 80kph and i do that, when really, everyone does 120kph hehe.

hehe.. tailgaters.. my buddy and I just put on 2 55W 'back up lights' this weekend. They're very useful against tailgaters since they're mounted the same height as the roof rack and aim down from there ;) he was kind enought to blast me with them on the way back to school this weekend. (So I fired up my KC lights and put and end to that battle)

You never see any speed traps here in CO.

Tell that to the Troopers and Pilot that would play on the road between Crested Butte and Gunnison because they didn't know that they weren't supposed to be doing that.

I've stopped paying attention to when some one flashes thier lights because I never see the cop. I think some people are doing just to see everyone slow down. So no I never flash my lights.

The only speedtraps I ever see around here are on the highway.

In general I very rarely flash my lights for anything, because I have my KC lights wired into my high-beams. No matter how well-intentioned I'm being, I know it's not a good idea to flash KC Daylighters to someone on the road.

Like Matey said it is illegal to do it Over here but i still will do both and always will and i've noticed not many people do it anymore as apose to when i was a kid driving with my parents in the car. I think it's strange that they anounce where the speed traps are on the radio and that's ok but we can't warn fellow driver's with a flash, i don't know about the States but they anounce speed traps here on the radio all the time. I personally try to be a good polite driver in a way that if someone is trying to pull in to a stream of traffic the nice thing is to let them in cos i sure hate being the one sitting there when no one will let me in and occasionally you will get a wave or hand up that say's thanks. Same with the flash i don't believe that speeding is right but ussually the people who don't speed and drive like idiots are the one's who get done on the off chance. We now have fixed speed camera's here that operate on the back of highway sighns 24 hours a day so you can't escape them but the odd patrol car i think you should warn with a flash.

Unfortunately up here in the great white north, radar detectors are illegal in most provinces/territories. Most of us rely on the flashing headlight system.

There is more than one type of speed detection gun. They have laser ones your detector won't pick up. And unless the cop is taking a nap and leaves it on, he'll still still get you when he flips it on when you get close.

There are speed traps EVERYWHERE around here...on minor roads, highways, two-lane residential roads...

The Gwinnett cops are out in full force as of the past year or so...esp on PIB near buford, always sitting in the median...ga boys can back me up on that one.

Flash your lights every once in awhile just to keep people honest. Besides, it may just prevent an accident!

someone flashes me i shoot.

They now have detectors that will not only pick up radar signals, but laser signals as well.

Bashman, as for detectors being illegal up there in the great white north, they used to be illegal down here in the state of Connecticut where I live. But they changed the law, and they are now legal. Maybe some day they will change the laws up there too.

Ya its very essential to obey rules at times they are made for your convenience only :exp:
