Drive friendly... the Texas way.
Click the lights on/off for speed traps, wrecks, or debree in the road. - Check
Click the lights on/off for trucks trying to change lanes. - Check
Raise a hand to say "Thanky" to folks that let me pull in front of them. - Check
Raise two fingers from the steering wheel when you can see the face of the on coming driver, just to say, "Howdy". - Check
What can I say? I'm a Texan!!
Speed traps really tick me off anyway. I disagree with the assuption that speed = wrecks. Instead of having our public safty officers parked behind bushes getting cancer all day, why don't we have them driving around, so they can pull over people who tail-gate or pass on the wrong side or do their make-up in traffic or crap that like that that really DOES cause wrecks? Now if I'm doing 100mph and weaving through traffic, yeah, I should get a speeding ticket. But if I'm a quarter mile from the nearest car on a smooth, dry interstate highway going 80, how is that a risk to public safty?
From the little time I spent in England, I saw that their highway patrol has it figured out. They generally don't pull folks over for speeding. But if you pass on the wrong side they'll nail you every time. Of course, they understand that what we call the "Fast" lane is actually the "Passing" lane. (Any UK fella can correct me on that if I'm wrong.)
Okay. I'm done.
