Long story short, I spilled ~1 gallon of premix in my explorer and it sat for a little over 24 hours. The carpet is drying right now but I can still smell gas in it. Besides it seems to have wrinkled up where the gas spilled. So I guess I need to replace it
But uh... from where? I can't find anyone selling the willow green carpet. If it makes a difference, I need the front carpet. Cargo area is fine.
Thanks for any suggestions. It's been a rough 2 days.

Hmmm... Would used carpet work? How much of a PITA do you think it would be to pull from a junkyard? Loosen seat nuts, toss all out of the way? Dismantle/destroy the center console, toss it out of the way? Remove the door floor trim, toss it out of the way?

Plus, would shipping it cost too much to make it worthwhile?

Would just part of the front carpet work? Like cutting it under the front seat somewhere, and sending you just the area you need?

Considering used carpet, but if I'ma spend the money on new carpet, why not brand new? Hard to find willow green here anyways. Pulling the carpet isn't a problem, takes me about 30-45 minutes. The only difficult part is getting the center console back in lol

I can't imagine cutting the carpet would look good. Probably wrinkle up pretty bad. The carpet is fairly stained from other stuff as well. Even stuff at the junkyard would look better all around.

I found this company http://www.automotiveinteriors.com/...or_custom_CUTPILE=869&color_custom_LOOP=#year

Comes out to $230 shipped for willow green with mass backing. Any experience with these guys?

I was just chiming in since I know of a Willow Green Explorer in a junkyard. I plucked both rear door handles since I have not ran across many of that color :shifty_ey

I'm well aware of the rarity of the willow green, I really need to make trips to the yard more frequent. :( idk why but the color grew on me many, many years ago.
Thanks for the help  I was really throwing a hail Mary posting this thread lol

My 1997 Mountaineer has Willow Green interior. I got lucky and came across 3 with Willow Green at the junkyard, and now my interior isnt missing anything. Honestly you might look at possibly buying a Grey carpet and getting some green carpet dye. As for removing the carpet, I had it done in an hour on my first shot.

The gas will have soaked through into the underlay as well.
