Been listening to the whistling for 3 months and finally couldn't take it anymore. So I took a real careful look again and realized that maybe the side view mirror was the problem. Sure enough, looks like somebody had removed the mirror at some point and did a sloppy job of getting the gasket back on. A little window strip foam and some strategically placed black silicone, and the noise is totally gone. And at the same time I fixed the rattling door trim that the bozo reinstalled wrong. Unbelievable.
