I just found a great feature while getting gas the other day.
The power windows continue to operate after you turn the ignition off until the doors are opened.
Some engineer finally thought that one out.

yep... its called accessory delay. Amazing what features you might find in an owners manual.

theres also a way to set the wiperdelay with road speed thru the keypad or something spooky I think

Finally?? They figured that out over a decade ago... My 97 F150 had that feature.

Does it automatically based on road speed. The first point of the interval setting is always the same regardless of road speed. From the second click and up, the interval time is shortened above a certain vehicle speed (I forget what that speed is off-hand, but it's in the service manual). Low continuous and high continuous are always the same.

well there was something about programming options besides the door locks thru the keypad, Im just too lazy to to look thru it :D

You can roll the windows up or down in tell you open the door

so your sayin i cna do that in my sport turn off the car and roll up and down my windows and once i open the door my windows dont roll up and down or is it just ur 98 xlt do it. or all explorers

does it do it for both passenger and driver side or what. i am going to try this feature out tommorrow and see if its true. cause right now its 1:10am here

You're probably thinking of the speed-controlled volume adjustment for the stereo.... I love mine and use it all the time. It saves me from turning the volume up on the road, then back down at stop lights.

Pretty much every Ford since the mid-90s should have that capability. The exact year may vary slightly, but your 2001 should have the accessory delay built into it.

well i fully turned off the car and took the key out of the ignition and tried to roll up and roll down my windows and it didnt do anything. Did i do something wrong here or what. How come for u guys it worked but it didnt work for me.

Both my 97 and my 02, as well as my gf's 95 and 02 have this feature
Sam you turn off the truck and before you open the door you can still roll up/down the windows

On our 02's the stereo remains on untill you open a door

so u guys are saying should i have my windows rolled up right now and then take the key out of the ignition and the roll down my windows and see if they roll down or what.
