Hey,
This problem began after I had been driving for 4 hours or so in 104 degree temperatures. The problem is that none of the windows will roll down, nor make any noise. The 4 wheel drive will not work either, and the 4wd high and low lights are currently lighting up and flashing 3-4 times every 5 minutes or so. We checked the fuses that were supposed to operate the windows, but they seemed fine. We also checked the relay near the battery, i think its number 3 or 4 it has a 30 on it. Anyway, we cant seem to figure out the problem.

BTW its a 1998 Ford Explorer XLT

More than likely it is your GEM module that needs to be replaced.. Its the main computer for everything in the truck. It controls 4wd, power windows, etc.. I've heard that you can swap them out as long as you swap em out with the same year & model.

PROBLEM SOLVED:
Arrrgghh, we apparently didnt check the fuse near the battery in the engine compartment close enough as it was broken. We replaced it and 4x4 and windows worked fine.

glad to hear you fixed it :)
