As in title I need a wiring diagram for a 03 and 06 Read Door/hatch. The door locks are not working.

Correction it is 1/2 working it will lock but not unlock.

I have swapped a 03 rear hatch for a 06 hatch. The 03 hatch worked correctly so I am sure this is a minor wiring problem.

Also the rear wiper is also not working, not that this any problem I live in az and have never needed one for 60 years.

Same thing for the rear defroster.

I rigger it up backwards and can unlock the rear hatch by locking the other doors. I then manually lock it last to lock all the doors for the time being.

I also discovered the Great 03 manual hatch lock/unlock lever it not a part of the 06 Door so I plan on rigging one up.

I shall take pictures of this swap and tell all.

Probably a couple wires reversed. It is on a dual throw switch that reverses the polarity of two out of the 3 wires at the lock, to lock versus unlock. The third (probably black) wire on the lock just goes to ground.

You can find the workshop manuals for those model years, with the wiring diagrams, on the site linked in my sig as "more explorer wiring and manuals". They are DVD ISO files, so mount with a disc emulation program or burn a DVD, they'll install and run either way. Plus then you have them for the next time an issue comes up.

I'm having the same issue except I swapped my explorer 2005 back hatch for a mint 2002. The big wiring harness out of the two connects but the smaller second one is way different. Door locks but won't unlock and nothing else works. All I want to work is the glass hatch and mabey the wipers. And of course for the main hatch to unlock and not just lock.

Welcome to the forum!

As I'd mentioned, see if you can get the wiring diagrams for them, then you at least know the wire colors and functions.

There's also a link in my sig to "some" of the Ford wiring connectors, could be that you need to buy a different connector to splice on, or get it from a junkyard donor vehicle, or of course, get it off the 2005 hatch you're replacing? By looking at what the wires go to on the '05 hatch, then you also know the function of each on that connector.
