A friend of mine just had one installed, he put his in the dash. Literally inside the dash. However, he does not pick up every stationg all the time. Just an idea. Are'nt they able to mount like on the roof or something? I was thinking right behind my sunroof opening were it's out of the way....
is there a monthly subscription cost or do you just have to buy the antenna? and will that antenna work with my jvc deck? i dont really know much about this stuff except that there are a lot of stations.

There is a monthly fee $9. you have to have a special reciever for XM. But you can get a satelite receiver and run it into the aux inputs on your deck since MOST of the satelite receivers are only that, a sattelite receiver.
That is expensive for just the receiver. If it includes an antenna then it's not bad. The unit for an XM ready Pioneer is only around 169-199. The antenna will run an additional 50-100.
I mount them in the area were the jack is. You should be abe to velcro it to the wheel well. I reccommend the glass mount ant. to my customers and put them on the sid window
