Won't Go Into 4x4!

I have a 1993 Ford explorer. I have a 2" spacer lift with Ranchero suspension all around. I also have a Magnaflow Catback exhaust system and have just recently purchased the KKM True-Rev induction kit. All this is riding on 31" Yoko tires with 17" chrome American Racing rims. I have been wheeling before but can't really call it 4x4 until it will actually go into 4 wheel drive. I don't how or what to check and have no money to take it to get fixed. I was wondering if anybody would have any suggestions?

Do any lights come on? Do you hear any noises?

I hear a clicking noise near the rear of the trunk. None of the 4x4 lights come on.

Ok. That means the 4x4 module is likely good. Sounds like your shift motor has problems. One thing to try is have someone gently tap on the shift motor with a hammer while you try to get it into 4x4.
