hello everyone, new to the sight. hopefully I can get some awesome help on here. this is my problem. I just purchased an 03 explorer sport 4.6. first off I think the resonator is clogged. I think it is a resonator. it is after the cats and located in between the front and back seats. it was glowing cherry red and performance was non existent. I pulled out some honey come looking mesh from the hole that was from the ball and socket connector on the side that goes to the muffler.
second problem. yesterday it just did not start. I have nothing when I turn the key. the battery gauge goes up and that's it. when I turn the key I here what sounds to be a relay in the dash. starter is not making any noises either.
can someone please help.

This is an older thread, but that's supposed to be a third catalytic converter, not a resonator, and the red-hot glowing sounds raw gasoline igniting in the cat (which will ruin it due to excessive heat --1,600 degrees +).

Did you ever figure out the no-crank (probably unrelated)?

i have a red wire that goes behind the engine block from where the battery terminal is on a 03 ford explorer that is 4.0. its single and i have no idea where it goes to
