to replace the automatic transmission in any car with a continuously variable transmission? 25% faster to 60 mph sounds good to me.

The CVT would need a wiring harness, computer, and adapters to work properly. Maybe somebody could come up with it eventually. Most of them are low to medium capacity which means that they are designed for small engines. I don't know if they could withstand towing, off roading or the power of a hefty V8 with a turbo without some sort of modifications.
