2005 Sport Trac
I've recently purchased a 2005 Sport Trac - which has the oem 16" wheels -

Unfortunately, the tires are needing to be replaced on these new wheels. Luckily, I just purchased a brand new set of tires, but had them installed on my previous explorer - which has the 2003's OEM 16" wheels for that model -

I'd like to swap the wheels/tires alltogether, but- is the backspacing different on the two wheels? Also, will the 2003's 16" wheel work with the sport trac calipers?

Hopefully someone may know off-hand, and it will save me moneyyyy :)

I know the 2003 rims are 16x7 with a +44 offset. Youd have to pull off one of your rims and on the inside of the spokes, the size and offset will be stamped or forged into the rim. If they're the same offset you should be fine

Personally, id keep those first rims on the truck, from what I've seen, theyre rare on sport tracs. A 265/75r16 or a 285/75r16 with a 3" bodylift will give you that "FX4 F-150" look

Yes the '03 wheels will fit but they look funny as he'll on an ST and tuck way into the wheelwells, you'd need atleast 2-2.5" spacers to look half decent. Stick with the ST wheels and just shop around for some nice 15's thatll clear the calipers/ tie rod ends.

Welp -

I got overzealous, and excited, and accidentally ordered a wheel tire combo over the phone during my last 10 minutes at work tonight...

I really didn't plan on it, but they were able to pricematch pretty well for me at Summit Racing, so I bit the bullet, and gave them my CC#. lol

Ended up with

312007027 - Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac 31x10.5x Tires - Got them pricematched to ~$165 per tire

and

3975812 - Cragar Soft 8 Black Wheels 15x8 5x4.5

2 weeks worth of shipping time... and now we play the waiting game...

I almost ordered a fifth wheel/tire, because I don't currently have any spare.

Anyone have a suggestion on where to get a 'spare' wheel, maybe even OEM, for cheap?

You've got 4 "spares" already on that st

Those are the wheels/ tire setup I'm running but a 33x12.5x15 instead of the 31x10.5x15.

I paid $146 a tire from the local dealer but that was after searching everyone's prices online and at stores. I found the lowest price I could find of $159 at TreaDepot.com then went to the local GoodYear dealer, told them the price and they priced matched and took off extra just to make sure I bought them from them.

I made sure I bought five matching wheels and tires to have a matching spare, it cracks me up when I see a jeep running around with big ass tire and a factory tiny tire.

Here's mine...

For the center caps I went to the local junkyard and pulled these from the hubcap pile, $5 bucks each.

Valid point, but I believe I'll probably be selling the tire/wheel set, once my new set comes in.

I just don't think I have the room to keep them.

What would be a good $$amount to sell the stock wheels with tires on them? and where would be the best place to sell those? Craigslist?

What size, brand and tread wear do the tires have? Pictures would help to determine value.

Should have as most salvage yards will ask $50 for a plain old wheel. Where is your original spare? Some Tracs and Rangers came with 15" wheels also.

Nice find on your centers Jerry.

Luke I just sold my factory wheels and tires and got $360 for everything off Craigslist. I had asked $400, but I'm a pushover, and also didn't have room for them. I caved to the first people that came and looked. Mine were the Chrome 16" Adrenalin wheels, which I think were the top of the line wheels for our ST's, and had them on 255/70 Goodyear Wrangler RT/S's with about 10K miles left on them. I had seen my wheels on several sites for $275 each, but there is no way I would have ever gotten that off Craigslist.
