Would you buy this explorer? (Crashed my old one, need a new one)

The only reason I am considering this is because the engine has been rebuilt. It has 119 miles on the chasis. The only thing I would be worried about is the tranny, how long do you think that would last? Would you buy this?

If it has an auxillary tranny cooler, the tranny is probably ok. If it doesn't, :thumbdwn:


It's probably got the OHV engine too. Only 160hp

Find out why it has new paint. Maybe it was wadded up pretty good.

I'd be a little cautious. My '98 XLT has 117k on it, and does not need a rebuild or paint work, and have only owned it since 89k. If you look at the second tab on the autotrader site, it lists 205 HP, so I wonder if the rebuild wasn't because of a timing chain failure, if it has the SOHC engine.

EDIT: The VIN given has an E in the engine type position, so it is an SOHC.
