I got the front with new rotors done in about an hour but got to the rears and pulled the rotor......

the E-brake Friction material fell out and i dont have the parts yet but I cant remove the shoes any way.

I have the retainer clips and pins out, the springs and star wheel but that's it.....

I all so need to replace a wheel stud.

are there ant other wearable parts in the parking brake setup?

I need to get this thing back on the road by 4:00 CST

I did a search for an E-brake write up but found very littl help.

Thanks

The only wearable parts are the 2 shoes. They are a PITA to get off, but you can do it, just get the bottom spring off and the front top spring off and you'll be able to strech em off of the axle flange assembly thing. Advance had resurfaced shoes for $23

you can easily get this done by 4

Ok I got the shoes

vato-Zone had em for 17.99 (but were asbestos) so I got O'reilys (carbon metalics non asbestoes )to price match em...

cool so I just have to pry em off.

I'll report back here if I hit any snags.

thanks

Yeah, what I did was use a panel removal tool (kinda a forked flathead screwdriver/prybar) and sliped it around the shoe on top ~ where the 2 shoes come together and pivot... then took a hammer and tapped the shoe back out of the slot until it slipped free. then repeated for the back shoe and used needle nose pliars to get the spring off or maybe even pulled them off with the last spring still on...

you'll sit there and cuss and fight and then all of a sudden it'll just come apart right in your hands and you'll laugh and be like "huh, that's it?"
