WV members meet and greet.. lets get this started.

Another member and myself were talking about a WV meet and greet for members in and around WV. I agree I have procrastinated about doing this for some time, but its time to get some things planned.

Location: Holly Grey Park in Flatwoods, WV
will call about pavillions, times, limits, once we get an idea of how many people can attend.

Date: May 10th? if that is too soon let me know what youre schedules are and what weekends would be good for you. Sat. May 30th I will be attending a wedding, so that is out.

Plans: I was thinking of a bring your own cookout sort of thing, I dont think we will be able to get any runs in bc I havnt been able to locate any areas down there for it. If any of you guys are familiar with the area and know of any places we could meet at or anything please let me know.. im not too familiar with that neck of the woods.

I would really like to get a feel for how many people would be up for this so lets get some feedback!

I'm down for meeting on either date. I have finals coming up this week, so I could use the stress relief. However, I just listed my Explorer in the local classifieds that come out this Tuesday. If it sells, I'll either be in the Focus or the "new" toy that I haven't found yet, which will be a 3rd gen.

eh, you dont have to drive an explorer to come. ill have a friend with me in a heep. i need to get on the ball and contact the park to see what is all available. then talk it over with the mrs. and see whats up. I know the 10th is kind of short notice, but if that doesnt work I wont be able to do anything till the first couple weekends in june.

I'm good for any weekend dates between now and the last weekend of August except for June 13th and 14th.

On a side note, where are you located? I only live about an hour away from the park on route 16 near the Clay and Nicholas border. In the last month or so, I've seen a dark blue lifted 2nd gen in the Gauley Bridge/Montgomery area two different times. It was a '99-'01. I'm flagging them down the next time I see it. We need more WV reps on the board.

im from Fairmont.. north central, below Morgantown. everyone up here is mainly a jeep driver, theres a few lifted explorers but havnt talked to any of the owners. a friend of mine from morgantwn has a nice ranger and frequents TRS

I've been through Fairmont several times. We usually stop at Hardee's on our way to WVU games.

I have an aunt that lives in Flatwoods and just so happens to be a realtor. I'll see what she knows about area trails or get together spots. She currently operates out of Summersville, but she started in Flatwoods and still lives there.

That would be great.. even if its something that we have to plan out for another weekend, or make multipe meets, that would be fun to find some areas where we could meet up.

I haven't been able to contact my aunt yet, but I will as soon as possible.

On another note, I advertised the X in front of my house for two days and it sold today. I was really kind of up in the air on whether or not to sell it, but money talks and I got quite a bit more than I had invested.

I talked to my aunt yesterday and she said Holly Gray Park is the best place. She made it sound like a pretty nice place, so maybe we should just shoot for it.

On a side note, I was out joyriding today in search of another Explorer and I just kept driving and driving. I ended up in Morgantown, haha. I thought to myself, "this would be a good time to have Four0Sport's number, we could meet for lunch". Oh well, lol.

I've had no luck finding anything locally(within a 150 mile radius, lol), so I'm planning a trip to NC this weekend to visit with family and look at a couple vehicles I've found online. I'm still available for any other dates except for June 13-16.

As much as I'd like to set a date like May 23rd or 30th, I'd like to have more interest first so it doesn't end up being just the 3 of us... no offense though, lol. I'm just jealous of the gatherings they have out west. To be honest though, I only know of 1 or 2 others from around here that post.
