XLT question

I bought a 1992 XLT 4WD. Transmission went out in march this year. Have money to get it fixed, but want to know if there is supposed to be a cross-member which bolts to the transfer case. There is not one on this vehicle and I'm making sure it gets done right. I appreciate any and all info on this matter. Thank you and it's good to be a new member of this club. Gary

Welcome to the forum! On your truck there is one crossmember that holds the transmission and transfer case in place. It actually bolts to the extension housing on the transmission which is in-between the trans and bolts to the frame on each end.
