I always wondered......does fuel injector cleaner really work? If so what are some of the better ones to use?

normal fuel additives

I believe that most fuels available at the pump contain some additives to help keep the fuel system clean. However, over time I suspect that the fuel injectors eventually accumulate a build up that affects the spray pattern and the fuel flow. That is why I periodically add fuel injector cleaner to my fuel tank. My first fuel injected vehicle was a Volve and at the time the only brand of cleaner endorsed by Volvo was Techron. I have recently read in one of my engine rebuilding books that some harsh fuel injection cleaners result in deposits being formed on the valves. After more than 30 years, Techron is still the only fuel injector cleaner I have ever used.

Techron works well,I also us BG44K but it's expensive at about $25 a can.But then you only use it twice a year and it really works.:D

seafoam motor treatment

Put half a can of Seafoam Motor Treatment in the gas tank. Run it fairly hard to clean all stages of the injectors and system. I've done this for years with cars and motorcycles without problems. BN

x2 for the seafoam. I also run it through the engine. Many of threads on how to depending on what engine you got.

I've used Techron in the past...
