JP is all up and running, we took it across town to get in on some 31 flavors scoop night at Baskin Robbins. Although she's not liking the year and half old gas in her. Little 104 and premium have been helping. Just need to burn off the old gas.

Don't own an explorer anymore but I'm going to try to bring my Xterra out. It's all stock, hopefully I can hang with @R.J. in his itty bitty bronco.

Work's crazy right now plus CES in Vegas next week so it's going to be tough but I'll try to get out to Truckhaven for at least a day.

We'll have 33's and a rear locker. That's enough to have fun.

DW_eagle took a bone-stock Wrangler out there a year ago. And as far as I know, he left with no (additional) body damage.

Is it alright with everyone if we try Marina Drive again?

Someone doesn't like the new mesa ultimate camping spot. :D I should be there sometime Wednesday and should be able to grab the spot at the far end of the flat area by the wash.

You've been there. It's the paved road that goes past the houses and turns into dirt.

Marina Drive is off of SR-86, about two miles north of S-22. You turn west, and drive through a small housing tract and road turns into dirt. Follow that and at a "Y" in the road with a large State Park sign, take the right fork. Follow that about 100 yards to a large and semi-flat dirt area. Look for a white Explorer and a pumpkin colored Explorer, parked next to a white Dolphin RV and a Dodge truck with bed mounted camper and a black trailer. That will be us.

How many RV's and how many tent campers are coming?

1 popup. I'll be out by noon on Friday. Weather is looking really good.

I'm considering bringing one of the dogs, but since I'm riding bitch :D she'd have to stay at the trailer.

Cool. You haven't been down in many years. This is going to be great. I will make sure and be out there Wednesday before dark. I have a different RV, its a white 35' Dolphin. I might be the only rig there Wednesday, but if not give me a call if you still have my number.

Edit: Please everyone bring firewood. We tend to have some large bonfires. I will bring as much as I can fit in the back of the Explorer.

Well plans are changing as we speak. ..lost the camper today. :(

Was cleaning it out and stepped away to use the restroom. Camper was plugged in and charging. My wife starts screaming that it's smoking and the carbon monoxide detector is going off like crazy. I run out and the entire thing is filled with black smoke, we unplug it and disconnect the camper battery (was on the truck but not plugged into the truck.) While my wife is got a leaf blower blowing in the back door so we can try to tell what's burning. We see flames under the electrical panel and I have no choice to bust out the fire extinguisher and go in, with of fear of it all going up.

Got it all under control and don't see and visible damage but the entire thing reeks of smoke. Going to call the insurance company as it's fully covered. I pretty sure it's done.:dead:

Oh man I'm sure sorry to hear this Steve. I'm glad you were able to get the fire out, and get your own butt out of their safely, that's the most important thing.

Murphy seems to be running rampant! Aside from having to have the trailer rewired, we found out the large pieces of wiring were from our brand new smoker!!! Guess the 95+ pound puppy was mad cause we didn't share! Called the manufacturer and explained what happened after a good laugh we were told not to worry new parts are in the mail. Smoker now lives behind a gate!

      Dang, Steve. That just sucks.

Be glad that you were there to put it out or you might have lost your truck too. My parents old RV was in for warranty work when it was new. The electrical panel shorted and smoldered over the weekend. Filled the entire coach with thick, black smoke. Insurance company had a company that deals with house fires clean it up. Took them a few weeks, but it worked.

Did you open all the windows and the door to let it air out?

I wonder if you can retain it and do the repairs if the insurance declares it a total loss?

Door and vents we're open when it started. We let sit for awhile afterwards, but it's back closed up now because it's suppose to rain tonight. If they want fix it I'll probably send it up Lance themselves, as they have a repair facility next door to them up in Lancaster. I have no clue how they would get it there however. All I know is I'm not surrendering my truck for weeks. Most places have no way to move it around.

I will tell you getting it back off the truck with no power sucked big time....There is no way I would ever, ever buy one with out powered jacks after having to do it by hand.o_O

The trick for that is to use an electric drill with an adapter to raise and lower the legs. Still time consuming, but not as bad as hand cranking:eek:

Damn, Steve. Sorry to hear that.

There is an exceptionally good chance I'm coming out late Thursday night instead. I decided not to pull the popup out; it's a lot of work for one person with no significant benefit. If it had a bathroom, it would be a different story.
