CJExplorer's 1995 Explorer XLT 4X4

Well I figured I would clean up my Registry and write a little about my Explorer.

I first found this site when I had my 1991 Eddie Bauer. After a rust problem along the top of the windshield I contemplated fixing it or getting something a little newer.
Read here for details on my 1991

Nice truck Chris. I remember right after that last picture was taken, the look on your face when I asked you if you really wanted to do this--ha ha

" But they said it would be ok"

:D

What a beautiful 95! That is cleaner then some 3rd gens I have seen, awesome! Nice work, nice ride:thumbsup:

:burnout:

nice and very very clean x u got there

Lookin' good Chris!
I like that cargo box- very cool!

The wheels look just like the ones I bought at the boneyard for Snowball- but I had to return them as the backspacing was off to far for me on the front.

Near twins?

Figured I havent updated this in awhile,
Havent done much to the Ex lately.
What is new:

Bought a set of Yakima Racks to support a heavier load and for Kayaks. (will take pictures soon)

Also installed a Homelink in the Headliner thanks to the writeup by JoeDirt (will take pictures soon)

Also had a rubbing and clunk sound when i turned and looking at my Control arms, found that the Ball Joints were failing. Ordered a new set on Ebay for both sides that have the Greasable ball joints and after installing them with my dad no more noise and more responsive steering:) Also after getting the parts replaced went to get them aligned and opted for the lifetime alignment. (Pictures in first post)

Also installed a CB radio in the forward Center Console area and opted to get new bezels and Paint them Gloss Black.

Chris,

Man your rig looks great. And I love the cargo box great Idea!!! And you still have alot of room to pack more stuff in there if need be!!

Now you just need to lift it a little so you can run the hills at truck haven!! And not have so much to worry about!! HA!HA!

Still you have a great rig! keep up the good work!!:salute:

...Great work and inspiration for others Chris...Hope to see you in Big Bear soon...:biggthump

...This X is one that would surely take a TOTM, if we still had the TOTM...:(

Mark-
Thanks I had a box similar in my '91 but when i got the '95 it didnt fit with the cargo cover so i custom built this one myself and found a vinyl fabric that matched, i thought it turned out good.
Lets me keep my supplies in the back without having everything sliding around.

Ted-
Thanks, Too bad they dont have the TOTM, it would be an honor to have mine featured if they did.
Let me know sometime your up in Big Bear, i am up frequently.

Teaser...I Got a New Explorer Twin Sibling Last Night
(Dad now is the proud new owner of a 1997 XLT 4x4):D
Ive converted him:D
