I'm new here, over from Rangerpowersports.com!

I've got two rangers, a limited SLP Thunderbolt, and a bagged and bodydropped '90.

I've come over because i am doing a motor swap in my 90 and aquired a 2002 explorer 4.0, and had lots of question on the wiring swap!

Looks like a lot of good info so far!!

pics of my rides!

Welcome to ExplorerForum!!!

...welcome here, it looks like you will fit right in...:D

Nice trucks, what are the specs on that black ranger. I thought SLP was a GM thing, I didnt know Ford had one.

Welcome to this forum! How do you get a floor jack or a lift under the truck with that kind of ground clearance? You could never take that on the streets where I live with the pot holes everywhere. I'm surprised that the body doesn't scrape on the ground when somebody gets into it.

Just curious (off-topic) how in the hell you get that hawk to stay up...I had to help me friend do his once it got so long ....the longest his was was like 14" or something...

is it just me...or would that ranger look way better as a reg cab.

Don't get me wrong though it's still a sweet truck;)

I saw a ranger like your black one in a magazine years ago, designed to resemble a lightning, but i never knew they produced them! That's awesome!!

Do you have a picture of the parts for the air suspension?

yesum. :) three linked rear, bag on bars. all tube mounts.

where would i go to find out about wiring for my new motor? I'm getting the body harness, but i still have lots of questions, mostly concerning PATS.

and i may stick around....i love the xp8 expo's:eek:

Do you want to keep the PATS system? If not the easiest thing to do is disable it with a computer tuner, like an x-cal 2, good luck on the swap

Is it possible to just completely bypass it with a tuner? I had talked to other on the ranger forum, and no one had a definite answer if it was actually possible. Obviously that would be the easiest thing!

Yup-the pats can be disabled-

another idea is a valet tune-
this way you can have a "dead tune" loaded to protect your truck--maybe for the valets also.
Limit the speed to 30mph in that tunefile and you are set.

The xcal holds 3 tunes-just flash the valet tune in when you park for the night-

Are those Michelin Hydroedge tires or another brand?

On the Thunderbolt:
In the older pics, they are Kuhmo Ecsta's

Now I've got 255/55 Goodyear Eagle RS-A's, and i really like them

The red/white truck, they are pirelli's, don't know which ones, i never really looked

Is there a specific forum section i should head to to ask questions about wiring and fuel systems??
