i know everyone luvs the flex-a-lite but im not paying $300 for a fan so just want to know if anyone has used or knows if it will work on the first gens

no thoughts or comments?i guess ill have to be the test dummy on this too.

Some guys swear by using junkyard fans from vehicles like the Mk8's. that would be even cheaper and you might be able to get a bigger one that would work even better.

The one you posted looks just like the flex a lite 150 though so I'll bet this one comes from the same chinese/taiwanese manufacturer that flex a lite uses :D

Or maybe proform is the chinese knock-off

yea its the same but the blades are a little different, they have more angle witch means louder.i dont really care about how loud it is!!from what i read over on the stang forums people luv them.i dont really want to use a junkyard one, would rather pay for a nicer looking and warranty item one.

A junk yard taurus fan, or, mark 8 fan will flow way better, and should cost less than 30 bux. Buy 2 if you need a warranty.

Replacement motors are all over ebay for them, I got a brand new motor in box for 17.00 shipped.

hey just the man i wanted to talk to.yea but they are big and ugly and i head you have to trim them down also.how much do they flow?also did you get my pm?

MkVIII fans will flow about 4300 cfm more than enough for an ex. Try a Taurus two-speed fan even they flow like 2800 cfm on low and 3200-3400 on high.

I have a Mk VIII fan that the ranger will get as soon as I have time.

Edit: Here is an install into a 3rd gen ranger Taurus Fan Install

If you need one "thinner", look into a chevy hhr fan.

suposivly flows between the taurus and the mark vIII fan. Also a lot thinner.

ok it looks like its right around 19x19 and that you could just notch the fan width wise so it would fit over the lip where the core meets the side tanks.so i think your have talked me into it!!haha
