4x4 high light blinking

New to the site but heard this is the place for answers, so here it goes. I just bought an 04 explorer for the girlfriend and the 4x4 high light wont stop flashing. I can tell the 4x4 isn't working. I push the auto 4x4 button and the 4x4 high and nothing happens. I replaced the rear abs sensor already but that didnt fix it. So what I am asking is what should I try next? Any help will be appreciated

If you haven't pulled the codes yet, start there. That will be your best bet for diagnosing this. Having had this issue myself a few times, its likely another ABS/wheel sensor. The codes will tell you for sure.

Good luck, and let us know what you find.

Check the wiring for the shift motor located on the transfer case, especially the ground wire.
