Good morning. Well i just bought a 92 explorer yesterday. I was told by the seller that the truck would slip going into overdrive. It had no plates so only drove around the block. It shifted into 1st 2nd and 3rd and also floored it and the kickdown worked fine. So i bought it and drove about a half mile to my friends house and let it run a bit. After 15 minutes i got in and put into drive and would barely move. Trans is definately slipping. If i put it into L1 it moves fine but 2 D or OD and it slips. Fluid level looks good and doesnt smell too bad but is brownish. My gut is telling me its time to replace the tranny but wanted to see if there could be a valve body or solenoid problem. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
