Well since I have the axle in-hand finally... I guess I can start my thread.

I bought this axle about a month ago from a guy in OR and finally made it around to picking it up yesterday. I watched as he actually took the axle out from under the truck. It's pretty clean.

1983 Jeep Wagoneer LP D44

The plans:
Rubicon Express leaf springs (unless someone suggests otherwise)
4.88s
Detroit

Then SOA the rear, add a locker, and 5x4.5 to 6x5.5 adapters (I heard they make them). So far I am thinking about going 35/36s BFGs or IROKs.

So.... any suggestions?

just like my BII brake setup then

I have it adjusted so the front and rears lock up at just about the same time

Had to use it once so far when I caught myself in the wrong lane at the wrong time....nothing gets peoples attention like 4 35" MT's leaving 10' of rubber...

The BII setup is pretty much factory except no RABS box in the rear line.
Section Gen I lines with no 4wabs would basically bolt in just FYI

Oh wow, you have any pics?

Negative.

Is it listed for a 1st gen or a 2nd gen? Cauz I have seen some older vehicles with proportioning valves -- typically mounted on the frame rail.

95-97.

Here is an image from Napa. Don't know how accurate it is. But they also list them w/ cruise and w/ pro valve.

PG&E hired in July. :p:

Damn I haven't done anything in a long time. Work has been crazy. The winch I got in August is still chillin' un-mounted-style. :( Hopefully in a month or so I can locate the Explorer (I think it's at my Dads) and work on it again.

Went and picked the beast up today. I actually drove it the 45 miles back to Chico since my F250 is still chillin in the shop. :thumbdwn:

It wasn't too bad.

Maybe I'll actually do something to it this weekend. :p:
