Wheels and tire help

Hi all,

Just joined the forum. I have a 1997 Eddie Bauer full time 4 wd. I use it primaraly for street, 97% Street 3% off road. I have the OEM rims on the vehicle, with pirelli scorpians stock size. It's time for new tiers for me and would like to get new rims and maybe 16's. Will alloy wheels give me better performance such as gas milage and breaking distance? Also what type of tire and rims would you guys recommend to me?

Welcome to the Forum, Alloy wheels may help braking distance but I dont think it would help gas mileage. As for tire brand, what size are you looking into ?

Hi Chopin,

That the problem I don't know if I should stay 15 with a wider tire or got to 16 with a wider tire. Maybe even stay stock and just replace the old ones. What would you do?

If it's 97% street i'd just stick with the stockers and get some stock size tires.
