My names Billy and I figured I would share my explorer and tell a little about it. Pops bought this brand new back in 92. After countless miles all over the US in the backseat of this car, it was given to me when I got my license and survived me through high school and college. Got my first job, and “that old explorer” had to go, so pops took it back. He drove it on and off over the years, and it started to show its age and he got tired of spending money for it to sit most of the time. He had toyed with the idea of getting rid of it but just couldn’t bring himself to do it so he kept it. Hi I am Matt a volunteer Search and Rescue K9 handler. I have a 2009 Explorer XLT that I have modified for K9 SAR use. K9 Aspen knows a ride in our explorer means fun times. My son and I are always adding new features as we learn what works and does not. I have tried to take photos during the modifications, not just the completed elements. The truck had been sitting for about 2 years outside his house before i got it. I got the truck home, where it was siting for about 2 years more. On this forum i found out that it was the PATS system that had been activated. I took it to 3 different shops before the last one could do the task needed to get it running again. Hey, my names Stephen I live in Hamilton, MT and I've been lurking on this forum since I got my first X, it was a 1993 eddie baur that was kinda beat and only had 126k on it. but after discovering this forum I've regretted getting an auto after hearing how much of a pain they are, so not wanting to get invested in something that was bound to fail. That brings me to today! I found a clean 1994 sport, the man who was selling said it was his dads and he bought in 1996 for 11,000 and trading in his 1989 bronco XLT. I decided with how clean it was and some dickering I got it for $2100 with 123k miles on the 6 digit odometer. I'll get some more pictures tomorrow, but its the cleanest X I have seen in Montana.
