I recently picked up a 1996 XLT to use as a DD. And like always Bandit Customs came thru!! NICE59FORDF100 had already named the vehicle "Layla Bandit", the name will remain Layla Bandit. It started when Russel was here in Hamilton working on The Green Buffalo with easymc and myself. He mentioned that he and Kris Guilbeaux were having a 96X coming to Bandit Customs that was going to be used as a resale. We spoke on this subject for a bit and the asking price with coming from Bandit Customs were too good to pass. I had a 99 Tahoe as a dd that was nothing more than a money pit and I was not even driving it since it seemed I was lucky just to make it to town and back without a malfunction occurring. Kris notified me when the...
Today I took possession of what is probably my last project vehicle - a 2003 Explorer Centennial with a 4.6L SOHC V8, 5R55S automatic transmission and rear wheel drive. The following threads are related to this vehicle: Next project vehicle? DOHC 4.6L V8 build Motorized pre-oiler 4.6L DOHC head cooling and crossover delete mods 2003 Centennial 4.6L Engine Removal ATF to Fluid Cooler for my 2003 Centennial There were only 4,000 of these Explorers manufactured and they all were identical inside and out. They have black exteriors to match the only color available on the Ford Model T. There is a badge on each side and rear to identify the anniversary model. The Centennial is basically a more expensive Limited with some unique interior and...
Well for awhile now, I've been looking for a second gen Sport with a manual transmission. a few days ago, I came across one for $800, the guy said it was clean, and needed a fuel pump. So I checked it out, like it for the most part. It had a few big scratched on the rear left quarter panel, and the obviously hit something with the front right, because the hood and quarter panel are a little beat. Oh well, the rest of the body is great, the interior is great (Compared to mine) Great! He said it had some transmission work and engine work done. Alright, cool. Looking under it, it was quite clean for having 170k miles on it, and ALMOST NO RUST. but we jumped it to hear it turn over, and it sounded alright. However, I still found...

Finally Elite Explorer! Thanks everyone for your help over the last couple years! I don't really know how to go about this, so bear with me. This is how it looked when I got it. I really, really loved my Explorer. I spent about a year and a half just fixing it up, adding my own touches and learning how to work on a vehicle. I had my moments where I wanted to take a shotgun to it. (Mostly when replacing the fuel pump) Then I got a job and finally got it road legal, and about a week after getting insurance, I got in a crash. (I will elaborate if anyone's really curious as to what happened. I will say, it was 0% my fault) Then I bought a parts Explorer for $200! The engine was on it's way out and it needed a TON of work. But...

Only real difference between the two are the added radius arms. The 5.5" duff kit is a bit out of my price range so I am figuring this and a SOA will work well enough. 35x12.50 BFG MTs...
Here it is, has some great mods. I take no credit for any of the mods done on this vehicle. The guys i got it from are basically the Messiahs of Explorers. Im lucky enough to live real close to them and help them out occasionally. Im sure some of you will recognize this truck, and know who im talking about. Ever since they brought this truck home i had been drooling over it. Not sure why but i immediately fell in love with it. Anyways tell me what yall think. I have a 2" skyjacker lift ordered, aals came in today actually. Just waiting on the springs. My plan is to have a few more mods done by May so i can go to Moab. P.S. I know some of you are going to ask, but the truck has 31s on it and no lift in the pics. Fenders are cut...
Hello All, I've been browsing this forum for the past 5-6 months just looking at what people have done to their Rangers/Explorers/Mountys, trying to get ideas of what I'd like to do to my own. First I guess I'll throw in a little story as to how I purchased her :P I bought a 1993 Ford F150 Flareside with the 5.8 351W back in February for $1,600 and restored her from top to bottom, and ended up selling it a few months later because I didn't need a vehicle at the time and wanted to see someone get use out of her. About a week afterwards I ended up striking a good job about an hour away and needed a vehicle, and a friend of mine had recently introduced me to some cool neighbors I didn't know I had. I went over to their house to meet...
