96 Explorer ... where is the speedometer cable located ?

Hello , I just done a transfer case swap (loads of fun !!) ... anyways I done it over a 3 day period in between work when I had extra time and I somehow lost my speedometer cable !! ... I have looked and looked front to back and felt all over the transmission and wiring harnesses and its nowhere to be found ... I believe I remember tucking it out of the way somewhere, but can't remember where ... can someone tell me where this cable is located and where it comes from ? ... thanks ... RSM

it comes out of the back of the transfer case by the rear driveshaft yoke, it is in the bundle that goes with the transfer case shift motor wires,
