4.0 Sohc Concern

Just got 81,000 miles on '01 Sport Trac. Is there a need to be concerned about timing chain problems now. I don't hear any engine noises except an occassional dry start or chain rattle, don't know which.

i got an '05 with 123000 miles, no problems with mine.

Timing chain

I have 136000 on mine, I am getting ready to do the chains. Started hearing the rattle noise at about 135000, a friend mechanic is going to do it for 800.00 labor and I buy the parts. Have you heard any noise yet, if not I wouldn't worry about it.

on average its from 125K to 150K in miles they go. some sooner some later
