I have an 02 explorer. My 4x4 acts like it is stuck when turning. Indicator lights seem to work when pushed. I can hear the 4x4 module and transfer case cycle when I push 4x4h 4x4L. I've checked fuses and they're all good. Any ideas where I should check next?

Sounds normal. It is going to make noise when turning in 4wd.

4x4 is engaged when diferences in wheel speed are detected.
When doing a tight turn, your wheels are turning at more than enough different speeds to engage the system.
When that happens, your front and rear wheels become locked.
When locked they cannot turn different speeds.
So you'll hear noice and might even feel a 'hop'
When on dry pavement, try not to do really tight turns
