It's an old poor man's HotRod trick. The piston pins are offset in the pistons. So if you swap sides and rotate them it increases the stroke and compression.

You got the goody out of those pads. I tend to harvest rotors/pads from the junk yard. I just watch for stuff in good shape. I scored a all but new set of rotors this last fall. Somebody had already poached the calipers, the emergency brake was on so the rotors were "stuck". I love that...

My old 4.0 would sputter and try to die when I was working it at low speed (rock crawling or snow wheeling) I figured it was getting hot and going into limp mode. I swapped a 5.0 into it to fix it. Now more sputtering.

The ecoboost 3.7 has been swapped into a ranger. There's a YouTube on it. I can't remember the name of the shop. It's a big high end shop. I bet the guy had $50k+ in the swap. It was super nice.

The 5.0 Windsor just sounds right. The "flip-track" makes all the right noises and manual tranny is stellar.

I've ridden in it. It is a legit good time. Ford should have built them with the 5.0 and the 5spd. If I didn't just get my 5.0 1st gen on the road I'd have to have one. Jamie is great guy and does good work. Wish I didn't live 8 hrs away.
