It just bolts onto stock bar, has a shaped flat bar that is molded to the shape of the bar. Bolts go through plate that's part of the frame of carrier through bumber to said plate. It is quite strong as I tested it out with my weight as well as tyre. Am only selling as I wrote the X off & now...

Only had it for a short while, but it did pass a registration inspection when I 1st got it. :australia :) i.e roadworthy

This law only came into effect this year, there where witnesses but they just saw the X swerve into the light pole

Thanks for that very detailed info, I am at the mercy of the accident report as I was taken to hospital because I had a blood red eye from hitting the air-bag. My memory of it is that I lost steering control, it then sideswiped a light pole on the edge of the gutter then went on to hit power...

Have been told by the nearest explorer parts & mechanical (more than 300klm's away) that it's more than likely the selector on the transfer case, hope so as cheaper & easier to fix :D :australia

I got this made (for my old 2000 X) at a local engineer shop & it cost me $80 Australian. The only hassle I had with this was I also had/have a Hayman Reese tow-bar & every time I got some serious articulation or a large bump happening it would hit the tow-bar. :eek:

Definitely old thread but............ don't seem to find anything else on here using search & saying "front swaybar disconnects" so here goes. 1/ is it viable/ does it work? 2/ how do you do it i.e. remove whole thing or just disconnect 1 side? 3/Do you need to hook it back up for on-road...
