    Window lift motor struggling

Yeah I'll check with them Monday I suppose. I'm not sure if that's a thing with that business. Until that gets sorted, tho, I'm going to attempt to use the '91 motor so I can pass my inspection. Do you know if there's a way to safely remove and reuse the metal pins in the connector? The wire...

    Window lift motor struggling

They were a reputable and highly recommend company. I'm hoping they did as I asked. My #1 reason for using them was for the brushes to be replaced to encourage a longer lifespan of the motors. I'd already popped them open a week ago(before having them fixed) to see they were at, what I assumed...

    Window lift motor struggling

I just had the motors refurbished 4 days ago. I tested the driver's side '94 motor, the one in question, free from the regulator. It moves fine with no load on it. I'm tempted to crack it open all the way and take a look, but I'm concerned I won't be able to reassemble the brushes correctly...

    Window lift motor struggling

So, I recently picked up a clean 94 Explorer XLT with 3 nonfunctional windows. I removed the 2 front motors and had them refurbished by a local electric motor specialist. Upon reinstalling them, I started having issues with the driver's side. It sometimes goes down smoothly, but always has...

    5.0L or 4.0L rebuild?

if im not mistaken, the 289 and the 302 are almost the same, with the exception of the stroke and camshaft. youll bump into the same issues either way. if you have the 289 to swap into it you might as well, but a 302 has better internal parts and will produce more power for less money.

    5.0L or 4.0L rebuild?

i guess i could probably get a trans out of a wrecked sport, or something similar. a friend of mine scraps cars for an acceptable living, and in one week he junked 2 1st gen and 1 2nd gen 4 doors due to a rollover and 2 tbones. i wish i had thought about this then. but i didnt have my trucks at...

    5.0L or 4.0L rebuild?

one of my 93's has a HEAVY knock in the motor, and is brutally sluggish. its been off the road for well over a year before i bought it to get back into off roading. i was going to do a straight out 4.0L swap just to get it running again but im not really interested in all that work for nothing...
