i got a 99 4x4 xlt and I wont the 3in body lift from performance. The 98-01 ranger part #883 is the one i am ordering. But when installing is there any drilling or welding needed.

no welding... shouldnt be any drilling either unless you run into problems and have to modify something. but if all goes as planned there should be no drilling or welding.

You'll need to drill out the front two mounts to 1/2". But I think thats it for drilling. No welding at all.

It all depends on how you do things. As Section525 said you will need to drill out the front two bushings. I also drilled a new hole for my parking brake cable where it goes though the front body mount. I also had to drill holes in the bumper lift brackets I made. That was pretty much it though.

good call on the front mounts... forgot about that.
