How to handle the noise

I have an 02 XLS with the whining rear end. Like others the axle was replaced and the same sound has returned. Has anyone found a way to minimize the sound? A few things I tried with little success. 1. Changed the fluid and used Royal Purple. 2. Sprayed the underside with sound deadening undercoating. 3. Used audio sound deadening mats under the carpets and rear panels. The dealer is no help; they have not fixed one with 100% success. I know I can’t get rid of the sound completely; I am looking for a way to reduce it. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

There isn't much to do with things like that. Maybe a thicker gear oil - but that'll change your fuel economy
