btw the whole thing is black as night during the day, and the green lights up at night pretty darn close to matching the interior green lights. also the face of the headunit can still be removed and taken with just like before the surround was installed. oh yeah, and its made of acrylic.
how did you do it? like what lights, did you modify an installation bracket to put your single din in that spot, or was it already there and you just put that around it?
the single din was already there, i used four regular little wedge bulbs soldered together in series and wired them to the little light that is supposed to light the ash tray (the advantage to this is that it dims with the interior lights and such) then i mounted them in a row of acrylic in the back of the top sleeve of the din thing and made reflectors of tinfoil to help it light and two sided taped it all together
