  • Second question: I have radiator coolant loss about a half cup a day - from the expansion tank. I do not see any visible leak signs on the radiator, or the cap, although I changed the cap to non original and now the coolant disappears from the radiator tank itself and the expansion tank coolant remain over the week. There is no overheating. There is no oil in the radiator cap. The radiator hoses look sealed - no leaks.
Where else can I look? Model is 1999, SOHC V6. Eddie bauer.
i have 2 1999 EXPLORER sohc, v6 and while changing the fuel filter, by Haynes type duck bill, the ones that need the special easy disconnect tool. The nylon fitting on tore off, that connects to the filter.

Is it salvageable, I put rubber tubing with two clamps, on the torn off side, when I reassembled, the fuel was leaking from the side that did free up (engine side), the o rings (I counted three) were coming out and the flatish one fell out of sight after a few attempts.
What is the procudure to recover the torn off nylon? Will the rubber tubing work as the pipe has a rating of 100 psi? Is there a way to replace that section about a foot in each direction from the fuel filter, from over the counter similar parts and how to do it?
I am reluctant to replace the filter on the first explorer as it did leak a few drops after replacing but I think it was luck that let me remove and reconnect - even though is was hard.
The fitting are not round anymore, on both cars
