As a newbee , I don’t mind talking to my self so here goes:
From some of the threads I have viewed here on “Serious Expectations” including great pictures on how to trouble shoot control modules and control motors I have jumped to the conclusion that my trouble with the “in and out” feature on my 1991 Ford Explorer 4X4 is similar to problems I have had with Electric window elevators.
Oh yes I have fought with them many times. You know -- hit the motor with a hammer etc.
But this 4wd module and its ability to know whether my ignition switch is on or off, whether child protection is on or off and probably its decision of whether I am drunk or sober has me baffled.
I don’t mind jacking up the vehicle crawling under the 4x4 remove the control motor and figure a way to manually do the work of the control motor with a hand crank.
