Sorry for the late response Mr. Mr. Unfortunately I couldn't tell you what the exact cause of that would be. Could be electrical, could be mechanical. What does your mileage look like? I'm not sure what the conversion would be but I know my transfer case started giving me problems around 100,000 miles. The only difference was I couldn't disengage 4Hi.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help, but I would have that looked at by a transmission specialist who knows his way around a transfer case.

Hi, I've just joined,from Down under-Oz, have a '98 Explorer, gave it a good polish last night, couple of things wrong with it the main thing being it does'nt go into 4x4 and the 4x4 Hi/Lo lights flash on the dash all the time. Any Ideas?
